The RME's Songwriters' Round Table is a monthly meeting of local songwriters to talk about songs they're working on and exchange ideas. For the Songwriters' Round Table Showcase, we'll be featuring some of the musicians that are part of the group.
David G Smith
David is a solo artist whose music ranges from dirt funk to intimate. His troubadour resume includes 20 years on the road; US radio play & tv appearances; 6 albums released in as many years, the next to feature an appearance by Grammy winner, Keb Mo!
Retired Davenport Fire Fighter. Cartoonist for The North Scott Press. Freelance commercial artist. Articles published in The BMW Motorcycle Owners international magazine. Single parent whose daughter has a master's degree in English as a Second Language/Non-Profit Management. Picking guitar seriously for six years and appears at open mic nights in the Quad-City area.
Angela Meyer has been performing professionally since she was just 16 years old, bringing out the best of the country & western industries. Her work is inspired by “writing songs for empty rooms & broken hearts in hopes to fill them up” and stays true to three chords & the truth. A storyteller with a passion for her listeners, Angela pulls in the crowd with a sweet voice and brutal honesty. She knows what its like to be in the audience, her earliest memories taking her back to being a child dancing in smoky tent while her mama sang on stage with her band at the Iowa State Fair. Even before she could talk, Angela was singing along with the radio and introduced to her musical heroes through her grandparents’ record player in their Iowa farmhouse. Around 10 years old, they gave her a guitar for Christmas, but it was so large she had to lay it across her lap to learn how to play it. She finally revisited the guitar at 15 years old, starting to write her own music and creating the foundation to build her young dream into a lifelong career.
Keith has been a Songwriters' Round Table regular for a few years now and has written songs that have been covered by different members of the group in their own performances. His song "The Ski Song" was featured in the movie Drop Everything.
Maria Klein is a local singer songwriter who writes and performs an acoustic contemporary style of music to share God's love with the world. She finds inspiration to write songs that tell a story about life experiences, her family, and her faith in Christ.
Rich & Vicki Ingle
Vicki and Rich began performing together as Comfort Food three weeks after they met in 2005. They have performed primarily in the Chicago area but have also done shows in Sault Sainte Marie, Cleveland, Lexington, KY and other out of town venues. In 2010 they released their first self titled CD which was issued on the Wind River label out of Naperville, IL. After making the jump from coffeehouses to house concerts and concert series, in 2015 recorded their second CD for Wind River titled Double Helpings (a 2 CD set). Their live performances were often featured on WDCB radio in Glen Ellyn, IL where they continue to get airplay. They have also gotten airplay on WFMT's Midnight Special hosted by Rich Warren. They moved to Davenport this past summer to be closer to Vicki's family and look forward to more music making in the Quad Cities.
