Pro Audio Seminars at RME
New for 2010, River Music Experience (RME) will offer a series of specialized Pro Audio Seminars conducted by Sound Lab instructor Lars Rehnberg. The series of four seminars will be held in the RME Performance Hall on the second Thursday evening of the month, January through April.
RME’s Pro Audio Seminars will also feature local professionals as special guests from their respective areas of professional audio. Each seminar will run from 6-9 pm, with a break midway. The cost is $50 per participant per seminar, and includes a binder for take-home materials as provided.* Tuition is due in full with registration, at least one week in advance of each session. (We will determine at that time if there is sufficient interest to proceed with the seminar or if we need to reschedule for a later date.) These seminars are open to ages 15 yrs. and up, and no previous experience is required.

Jan. 14, 2010 - Recording at Home
Perfect your home studio and use it to produce great-sounding demos and multitrack recordings.
Feb. 11, 2010 - M ixing Audio
The art and science of crafting rich, warm stereo mixes that sound good on any system.
Mar . 11, 2010 - Live Sound
From soundcheck to teardown, learn how to make a live show sing.
Apr. 8, 2010 - M ultitrack Recording Techniques
Procedures, tips and tricks to capture exquisite sounds at home or in the studio.

*Limited financial assistance may also be available to low income or at-risk youth. Applicants need to complete an RME financial assistance request form, and submit with appropriate documentation of need or letter of referral.
2010 Martini Shake-Off
Benefit for HAVlife Foundation
On Thursday, February 18th, 2010, enjoy martini samples, delicious appetizers from Woodfire Grill and the sounds of Ellis Kell, Andrew Landers, Matt Podschweit, Terry Hanson & Ron Wilson for a fundraiser to benefit the HAVlife Foundation. The event will be held from 5:30 - 9pm on the RME's second floor.
Eleven local establishments will compete to win prizes in four categories for the best martinis in town! The martinis will be judged in four categories: fruit martini, classic martini, dessert martini and bartender’s choice. The venue’s that will be participating in the event are: Bass Street Chop House, Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano, Carriage Haus, Icons, Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse, Steventon’s, McClellan Stockade, Nan’s Piano Bar, Pints, Woodfire Grill and Red Crow Grille.
The 2009 Martini Shake Off was a roaring success, raising over $10,000 for the HAVlife Foundation and our Quad Cities' youth. Please join us for 2010 to help us raise even more! The HAVlife Foundation has been established in memory of Hunter Aaron Vondran, beloved son, brother and friend. Contributions to this foundation will be returned to the our community to support music and athletic programs in our local schools.
Dress is business/casual.
